LAS VEGAS, NV (April 27, 2010) – “Sgt. Pepper Live” featuring Cheap Trick, a dazzling musical experience featuring world-famous rock stars, the Sgt. Pepper Symphony Orchestra, Sitar legend Aloke Dasgupta, and a live interpretation of one of the most beloved rock albums in history, will take the stage for a limited engagement beginning June 11 at the Paris Las Vegas Theatre.

A Bill Edwards Presents Inc. production, tickets may be purcahsed at the Paris Las Vegas box office or online at www.parislasvegas.com or www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1.888.727.4758.

A celebration of The Beatles’ influential album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, the show is an energetic performance that features an orchestra and a captivating experience of light and sound as Cheap Trick perform the entire album live as well as select Cheap Trick songs that lend themselves to orchestral arrangements. Maestro Aloke Dasgupta and a talented Indian Ensemble perform the mystical Beatles' single "Within You, Without You." Geoff Emerick, the renowned engineer of The Beatles’ classic 1967 album, supervises the audio production. Never performed in its entirety by The Beatles due to the complex studio technology of the day that was employed in the making of the album, “Sgt. Pepper Live” allows Cheap Trick to incorporate their brand of power pop into the classic songs while paying tribute to music legends in an unforgettable musical experience.

Aloke Dasgupta is best known for recording on No Doubt's hit album "Tragic Kingdom" and performing at sold-out concerts worldwide. Cheap Trick is best known for its classic singles, “I Want You To Want Me” and “Surrender.” The American power-pop progenitors recorded the album All Shook Up in 1980 with Sir George Martin and Geoff Emerick, producer and engineer of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Emerick will continue to oversee the audio production for “Sgt. Pepper Live.” He received Grammy Awards for the engineering of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road.

Evocative Sitar & Shehnai Duets  (Available from Feb 1st 2010)

Shehnai  - Vikash Babu                 Sitar:  Aloke Dasgupta

In North Indian Classical Music few instruments embody the feeling and
mystery of the Shehnai. Traditionally a Royal Court instrument hence the
name Sheh (or Shah) meaning "King" and nai meaning "flute" thus "King's
flute". Today it is more commonly found in temples and wedding ceremonies
and because of the role it plays in these events the Shehnai could be
considered the most auspicious instrument of India. In the hands of a master
musician such as *Vikas Babu* the Shehnai is a perfect touch to any Indian
ceremony or event. Vikas Babu is an experienced master musician from the
Banaras Gharana who has performed in Europe, Africa, India. UK and Japan.
In the United States the Sitar is the quintessential Indian
instrument. Its sound resonates with both traditional Indian audiences and
with Americans familiar with the Beatles and the 1960's styles of music. The
Sitar as played by* Maestro Aloke Dasgupta* is both a bastion of traditional
Raga and a modern evolving instrument. In any style Aloke Dasgupta is a
consummate musician who has performed worldwide with such notables as the
L.A. Philharmonic, Lincoln Center, Prof. V.G. Jog ( Indian violinist), Cheap
Trick, No Doubt, and others. Either performing at the Hollywood Bowl or at
your private show, without question Mr. Dasgupta will be a highlight of any
event at which he is performing.
The uniqueness of a Sitar-Shehnai duet is unprecedented,
this is a combination rarely found in the United States. The highly lyrical
nature of the Shehnai in conjunction with the exciting rhythmic nature of
the Sitar is truly a natural match. Accompanied by the Tabla
virtuosity of *Mrinal
Bhattacharya* and the drone of the tanpura. This trio of master musicians
will certainly make the most of the music creating a highly authentic
musical experience for all.
If a more contemporary feel is appropriate for your show
please consider our Sitar,  shenai, bansuri (Indian traditional bamboo
flute), Guitar and tabla ensemble featuring music of the Beatles, Elvis,
Michael Jackson, and other Contemporary Western Artists as well as jazzy
interpretation of Bach. This ensemble works well as reception music so
please consider this in conjunction with more traditional music for the
service. For any additional information please contact Daniel, manager for Aloke Dasgupta
